Made them from the bottom up.

Here is what I did.

Rib
CO 32 sts with US 5
1x1 ribbing for 14rnds

Body
Increase 5sts for body : k6, m1, k6, m1, k6, m1, k6, m1, k6, m1, k2 (32→37sts )

K3rnds

Thumb gusset : pm, m1, k1, m1, pm, k to end
Then, start to work stranded pattern (keep working thumb inc every 3rnds, I marked circles at inc rnds numbers on the chart )
Slip thumb 11sts to waste yarn.

After the chart, continue working body with main color until body 5inches (without rib length…my boy has big hands as 4yo so, I recommend to try it on your pumpkin’s hand for decide body length)

Then made ears one by one, used Kitchener stitch to close middle as other people did.
