I chose a feather-and-fan pattern at the suggestion of “The Knitter’s Guide to Hand-Painted and Variegated Yarn”, given a) the short color repeats, and b) how busy the colorway of my yarn is.

I cast on the recommended # of stitches, and it just fits over my (slightly larger than average) head, and is nicely snug around my neck. I ended with an extra purl row and knit Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off, which together gave me a nice border for the top.

Loved working with the yarn, it got softer just by working with it. It was a bit hard to frog, but I’d definitely use it again, the color saturation is marvelous.
