Notes

I am converting this pattern to feature Seahawks colors, one with a 12 (made a bit larger for his driver) and one with a 3, as per my nephew’s request. :) They’re coming along nicely!

Club Measurements: 12” & 15” circumferences.

3/24/14: 1st progress pic posted.

6/10/14: 1st cover done except to embroider the number 3 and seam together.

Measures: ribbed section-9.5”
head section-10” circ, but stretches easily to 12” x 6” height
total length-15.5”

2nd cover is at the head section. This one is going to be wider, as it is for my nephew’s driver. I used the original instructions, but increased 18 sts (an additional 10) for a total of 54 sts at the stockinette section. This should add the extra inches needed for the circumference of the driver, with a little bit of negative ease worked in, as is the case with the previous cover.

Measures: ribbed section-9.5”
head section-12.5” circ, but stretches easily to 16” x 6” height
total length-16”

7/11/14: The smaller #3 embroidered cover is complete!

8/16/14: The golf covers have been done for a while now, but I just put the pom poms on them today. Tomorrow I will be handing them over to my nephew to see how he likes them! :)

I posted a photo with a mechanical pencil so you can get an idea of size…golf covers are much larger than I realized, not having any experience in the sport myself, lol. ;)

Note: I have used the less bulky bind off which Jeannie Phillips developed for loom knitting. This entails the last 4 rows of knitting before the BO being converted to a 2x2 ribbing. Then all the purl sts are sewn through in the round, cinched tight, before then proceeding to sew through all the knit sts, cinching tight before knotting and weaving in end. Works perfectly for a very neat gathered bind off! :)
