Notes

Feb 7/16: was able to reverse-engineer a version of this chart to fit my gauge and got to knitting last night. I’m currently in the second chevron from the toe (the first being the partial chevron I made at the toe). These are being worked toe-up, TAAT.

Feb 8/16: shit. Other projects seem to indicate that I ought to have had Heritage as the background colour. Ah well, maybe I’ll make two pairs. Also, I ought to have mentioned that I’m working with the Heritage as the dominant colour.

Feb 10/16: yes, these aren’t quite as striking as they’d have been if I made the chevron portions white, but I like the subtlety of the chevrons this way.

Feb 11/16: begin and finished the first heel yesterday. I made the “mistake” of starting the FLK directions on what would normally be the top of the foot, but am rolling with it for both feet.

Feb 12/16: both heels are complete and I’m working on the second chevron from the heels. I think I like the look of the bind-off in the official pattern; I’m considering going with that look, rather than ribbing as I’d normally create. Update: working on the third and final chevron now.

Feb 13/16: I barely left myself enough of an end to finish the sewn bind off I did for the first sock’s cuff. Disheartened, I’m taking a break from finishing off the second sock (during which I will undoubtedly make a point of leaving much too long a tail). Also, my ball-winder is going tits-up, so I’m going to have to invest in a new one. Also: poop, I’m going to have to try to cancel the order I just placed with a U.S. company that didn’t notify me of total order cost before it authorized the transaction. Uuuuuuggggggghhhhhhhhhhh.

Feb 14/16: holy poop, these were done in a week! I didn’t bother blocking them because they fit quite nicely right now and will be in tomorrow’s wash. I really do love the way they turned out and am now going to keep my fingers crossed that Lion Brand Sock Ease doesn’t full prodigiously.
