edit february 2011: project finally frogged

as i noticed as soon as it was finished the raglan seam was always slipping down because of the cut of this sweater. after the third attempt to make friend with this fact i decided that this will never happen. it drove me crazy! i allways pulled on my sleeves…

i kept the shawl-collar as a shawl. sweater is frogged and i will use the yarn for another sweater.

both kid seta and the lace yarn are in my stash since aeons. the lace yarn was a gift from a friend. i dont know the yardage exactly but mean to remember that it was 800 m / 100g. as i have many skeins kid seta and two skeins lace yarn it will hopefully be enough to knit this beautiful cardi. will start as soon as i have finished inara and the sleeves for sahara.

oct 26 - could´nt resist any longer :) inara is finished and so i started with the back today.

oct 27 - one skein of kid seta is knitted up, which means 225 m. the lace yarn was exactly 100g, after 225 m there are 75g left. this means that 100g = appr 1000 m. after this first 225 m the back measures 25cm. this is about a third of the total back height. and wide will decrease beause of the raglan shape. so i´m pretty sure now that i will have enough of the lace yarn.

oct 31 - finished back. weight 110 g! this cardi will be a featherweight one

nov 1 - finished first sleeve
nov 3 - finished second sleeve
weight of back and sleeves together: exact 200g
nov 9 - figured out today (and after 2 pattern repeats of each 92 or so rows) that i will NOT have enough from the lace yarn. hmpf!
will use now malabrigo merino lace in teal for the last part.

nov 25 - finished!
total weight: 370 g
stibnite is soft and cosy, and very warm. i am not totally happy with the fit of the raglan seam because of the wide collar/front. it slips down (like on the pictures) and i have to pull it back in place. but it is not too bad, i will let it as it is.

i followed the instructions for size 50 (finished measurement 56). pattern is easy to follow. i did only one modification: i folded the pleat opposite to the instructions, because folding it out made an ugly bump.

nov 26 - foto shooting! :D
