8/9/09 Finished! I have several major modifications. First of all, I knit the sweater intarsia style instead of stranded Armenian style. I knit the sweater in a cotton blend. And we designed short puff sleeves. I found the chart easy to read. I had to add rows to the length of the bow as my row gauge was not the same. As a matter of fact, my stitch gauge was not the same either. I guess I just used the chart and we designed the body and sleeves.
8/4/09 Well after several months of hibernation, Bowknot returns! I have knit both sleeves. My daughter wanted different sleeves than the original. The sleeves I knit are short puffed sleeves. I sewed the first one in and it is very cute. I finished knitting the second sleeve and it is ready for assembly. Just sewing the sides and weaving in the stray ends. Then on to the edging around the neck and sleeves. I feel like I’m on the home stretch.
4/15/09 I’m really trying to finish this for Lindsay to wear this spring. I’m finished with the “bow” portion. Now on to the collar. I also decided to add ribbing to the bottom to prevent curling.
10/3/08 I have the front finished to the armhole shaping. I need to go to my LYS for assistance with the resizing. I am now knitting the back. It is endless rows of navy stockinette!
9/6/08 I knit 5.5 inches of Navy stockinette before starting the intarsia chart. I love how the cream is contrasting the navy. I had to add rows to the length of the chart as my gauge was different than the sweater. So far, I really like it.
8/22/08 Cast on. I am making many modifications on this sweater. First, I am knitting it in a cotton yarn. My daughter doesn’t want wool. Second, I am knitting it intarsia style not stranded. The double stranded yarn was not the texture Lindsay wanted.
