I really need a matching set for winter and I like the idea of combining merino and mohair for some luxurious warmth.

The result feels really luxurious, I’m already through half the hat. The pattern is easy but the twists are kind of hard to make. Hope it’s not too big, I want a snug hat, I already have 2 handmade hats that are too big for me.

Only need to sew on the pompom

It has pompom now, but I think decreasing immediately after ribbing is a really dumb idea - you want the ribbing snug on the head, not loose and the rest of the hat snug. Lesson learned.
Also, my hat does not look like the pattern, it has much more repeats and I’m pretty sure I got the same yarn, needles, gauge, etc.
