Husband asked if I could turn Grey Not Gray into a zippered cardigan.
And I said yes.

Am finally getting to work on this. Must get crack-a-lackin’, as the autumnal shift is upon us what with all its transitional winds and rainysleepy goodness.
Must buy a zipper.
Have ripped back the rolled neck down to where I think a crew would be bound off. I think…
And I will bind off with EZ’s sewn cast off, because it will give added stability to the cardie.

Come on, zipper! Zipperstop is sending a custom brass zipper in the length I need. All our local fabric stores only carry Coats zippers, mostly invisible or plastic, and no separating zippers in the length I need. What gives?
It is finished…
Some tasks are meant only for the wee hours, and I find that putting in a zipper is one of them. I worked on it until 6am---it took me about 5 hours to do the whole thing. Many tiny stitches. Many, many tiny stitches. But it is done.
It’s not been reblocked in the photo yet, so there is a little bit of wumpusness with the zipper. Some of that is due to the slubby nature of the yarn, and therefore a variation in the icord.
Husband loves it.
