Notes

I did German short rows at the end to make the wings be pointier rather than getting all their pointyness from blocking. Here are instructions to do short rows the way I did them:

Dragon wing cowl short rows (replaces row 1 of finishing):

abbreviations:
sl1pwyif: slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front
pmk3pm: place marker, knit 3, place marker
rmd3rmyo: remove marker, drop 3 stitches, remove maker, yarnover
DS: slip 1 st purlwise with yarn in front, bring yarn up and over to back to show 2 legs, keep tension on it.

Special instructions:
DS creates German short rows. When you reach these double stitches later on, knit them as if they are a single stitch. More detailed instructions on German short rows are here: http://asatricosa.com/german-short-rows/

First section:
Row 1: sl1pwyif, K1, pmk3pm, K20, pmk3pm, K25, ppmk3pm 2 times, K20, pmk3pm, K2.
Row 2: sl1pwyif, knit to 6th stitch past second marker, TURN
Row 3: DS, knit to end, turn
Row 4: sl1pwyif, knit to 4th stitch past second marker, TURN
Row 5: DS, knit to end, turn
Row 6: sl1pwyif, knit to 2nd stitch past second marker, TURN
Row 7: DS, knit to end, turn
Row 8: sl1pwyif, knit to first marker, rmd3rmyo, continue knitting (remember to knit double stitches together)

When you get past the double stitches, Row 8 becomes row 2 of middle section.

Middle section (repeat these rows 3 times):

Row 2: knit to 6th stitch past second marker, TURN
Row 3: DS, knit to 6th stitch past second marker, TURN
Row 4-5: DS, knit to 4th stitch past second marker, TURN
Row 6-7: DS, knit to 2nd stitch past second marker, TURN
Row 8: DS, knit to first marker, rmd3rmyo, continue knitting (remember to knit double stitches together)
after you pass double stitches this becomes row 2.

End section:

After 3 repeats of middle section, row 8 becomes row 2 of end section.
Row 2: knit to end
Row 3: sl1pwyif, knit to 6th stitch past second marker, TURN
Row 4: DS, knit to end, turn
Row 5: sl1pwyif, knit to 4th stitch past second marker, TURN
Row 6: DS, knit to end, turn
Row 7: sl1pwyif, knit to 2nd stitch past second marker, TURN
Row 8: DS, knit to first marker, rmd3rmyo, knit to end

Then continue with Row 2 of normal Dragon Cowl Finishing (but remember to knit remaining DS together)

I realize Row 1 of the first section of my modifications is unclear, I believe it should read

sl1pwyif, K1, pmk3pm, K20, pmk3pm; (K25, pmk3pm) 2 times; K20, pmk3pm, K2.
