Ever heard of the curse of the love sweater? It applies to afghans too. I started this one as a present for a boyfriend, who as it later turned out totally did not deserve it. Perhaps I should have taken it as a sign when I ran out of one color and the yarn store I bought the yarn in (and the only one I could get to that carried it -- this was before you could buy yarn on the internet) burned down. As a result, the relationship was over before the afghan was finished. Lucky for me, because I like the afghan much better than the cheating guy.
