The Cross Creek is a little lighter than Malabrigo Rasta.
I knit it in the round, on smaller needles, with more stitches.
Began on US 13 DPNs. Cast on 6 stitches.
Row 1 doubled to 12.
Row 2 and all even rows, knit all.
Row 3 and all increase rows did 6 M1s instead of 4, with last one replacing the ending K2.
Took 12 rows to reach 48 stitches. Worked a total of 28 rows before beginning the flaps. Switched to 16” US 15 when I had enough stitches to reach.
Next row, cast off 6, K10. Went back to 13s to work flat. Had 6 at the bottom of the flap, instead of 4.
Rejoined yarn, cast off 16, K10 and worked 2ndflap.
Rejoined yarn and cast off remaining 6 stitches.
With 13s picked up 76 stitches and knit 2 garter ridges, then bound off.
I didn’t lik the way the ear flaps hung, so I ran stitches on the inside curved part of the flaps to gather them and make the flaps curve inward a little bit. Used ALL the yarn.
Got a bright blue snap-on pom pom to finish it off.
