This is Liat’s toe, a body of 72 stitches, and a thumb tab hat top afteethoughtheel from a Craftsy class.

The sock yarn self stripes. When I wound it into two balls, Ifound a knot, plus I had to discard a bunch of yarn to get the two socksto begin with the same color.

Since one ball was kind of small, I gave them contrast toes and heels, plus did an afterthought heel so as not to mess up the striping.

I used a hat-top heel. No short rows, no purls. A Craftsy course indicates it is good for a high instep. Once I was a few inches below the desired height, I added two stitches per round. Since it is mainly a K3P1 rib, I just did a kfb in two opposing sets until I had all 4x1 ribs, and a total of 90 stitches.
