Fraternal on purpose. I wound into two balls and pulled one from the center and the other from the outside. I still ended up with that wide band of teal, purple, and white in about the same place on both socks by accident. It is what it is. I started the foot with the women’s size, knit the gusset increases to the men’s size, and turned the heel until I had 70 stitches to account for a high instep and chubby calves. I did the men’s size before and felt that the foot was a little loose, and I couldn’t make the cuffs as long as I wanted before I ran out of yarn.

I think this scheme worked out nicely.
