Notes

I’d love to do the larger size in DK weight, but I have so much beautiful, beautiful fingering that I decided to stick with that weight of yarn and size up to a US5 needle in hopes of adding a little extra give compared to the fingering size measurements as listed in the pattern.

Sleeves are finished and now I’m moving on to the Honeycomb sides.

I am attempting to modify this as follows: Pick up one extra stitch on each end of picked-up row and knit the extra stitch with a picked-up collar or back stitch, eliminating the need to seam later.

This project has been an interesting exercise in color decision making. The skeins I chose in the beginning have ultimately evolved, as well as their placement in the garment, and I have pulled in at least one color that wasn’t in the original layout.

The Chevron edging is a challenge - I haven't figured out yet whether there are typos in the pattern, or whether I did something incorrectly, but transitioning from Row 2 (CC) to Row 3 (MC) has not been smooth. I'm hoping I'll find a solution in Row 3 (CC). Basically my decrease in the brioche section of each repeat didn't align with the instructions, so I may have ended up with an extra stitch per repeat, that I will have to handle later.

I also can't figure out why I would do a brkyobrk when there is still a stitch to slip between the brks. It seems like it should be a brk1, sl1yo, brk1. Except that this doesn't provide an increase yo to go with the decrease I couldn't work out.

So I have worked the brioche section of each repeat as regular brioche on the first round of Row 3 (MC). It almost seems like the pattern would have worked if I were going in the other direction, but the stitches are just not aligned correctly for me.

I just got an email from pattern support which may change everything!

With the revised special stitch definitions, the chevron/brioche edging worked out beautifully. I just finished my i-cord bind off last night. Only weaving in ends and possibly a bath and this baby is done!
