Notes

9/30/09 Love this pattern from Stephen West and looking forward to knitting it as soon as I can get to the yarn shop.

10/7/09 Finally took the time to weave in my ends. Really happy with the results, although I think I’ll try to get the purl stitches between my decreases a bit more snug on the next one. Fun project to knit and the pattern gives three different options for length, which is a nice touch. This one will go to Max and I’ll knit the shorter version for myself.

The colors in the Aysen are really nice. I like this yarn. I chose a coloway that had some tonal similarities with the main color so the alternating rows would blend a little. The Cascade Ecological wool comes in a huge 250g skein. Plenty of both yarns for at least one more hat, if not two, and I’ll still have leftover of the Cascade.

I was just thinking the other day how much I like this design and was surprised to see it is coming up on 10 years since I knit it! It’s still my favorite beanie to wear.
