Notes

It’s hard to go wrong with Noro and this quick knit pattern from Joe Wilcox is a great project to show off your favorite colorways. I used Kureyon and still had a bit left over.

The pattern starts off knitting the ribbing flat for the first few rows and then joining to knit in the round. This gives you a small seam to close at the end (very easy) but eliminates that jog at the cast-on edge that you often get knitting in the round. I think I do a pretty good job of dealing with the jog on my join, so I knitted mine completely in the round.

My gauge is typically tighter than stated gauge on patterns, but my finished hat is roomy, so I might drop down a needle size on the next one. This one is really comfortable though! I ended up wearing it around the house for hours today because I forgot I had it on! Still, I might try swishing it around a bit in a sink of hot water to see if I can shrink it just a little.

I can see this pattern easily becoming a go-to for handspun and quick gift knits!
