Notes

“Can you make me a sweater with the imperial symbol in black on the front and Darth Vader on the back?”. Yes… yes, I can, thanks to the magic of BULKY WEIGHT.
Gauge… Size 10: 12 st = 4”, 16 R = 4”. Or, 1 inch is 3 stitches or 4 rows.
Cast on 90 st on size 7 needle, rib 1”, change to size 10.
Stockinette until 6.5” total.
Place markers for 19 stitch pattern in front and back.
Front is 45 st wide, so K 13, front pattern, K 26, back pattern, K 13.
Estimate when to split for sleeves by comparing to Weasley Sweater.
White is way too high contrast on Vader. I am going to have to replace that bit with some scrounged-up doubled worsted weight in something dark. Color selection of this yarn at Joann was… limited.

Front neck: place middle 11 sts on holder (of 45 total: k 17, k11 and place on holder, k 17) … or about 3 1/2 inches or one quarter of total width for child size M. Decrease to 13 st per shoulde, k until same as back (in this case 7 rows)

Neck: 19 sts across back, pick up 8, 11 across front, pick up 8.
Sleeves: pick up 3 st per 4 rows. (Aim for 15” around. 45 st to pick up.)

Sleeve… Decrease every 4th row to 26 sts, and after final decrease row K additional 12 rows. Switch to smaller needle k1p1rib.
12 rows ribbing. BO loosely with larger needle.

Marked finished, weight is 14 oz, need to weave in ends.
