My, what fine yarn you are!

And what fine needles you need!

Very thankful for the written instructions because I’m still having trouble tracking properly. It’s not necessarily the hardest motif or pattern but just very mentally consuming if your brain cell isn’t up to much most of the times. The last section was much more ‘open’ and predictable so that was a lot easier and went quite swiftly. I was very impressed that I put this down for months but managed to successfully ‘read’ where I’d got to, especially as I’d just come from the faff I got myself into on the Celtic Cabled shawl.

It took a lot to get the required cast off loops and giving up was on the cards but hubby took a shine to them and insisted it needed them. I persevered. In the end I worked them on just the one needle and handpicked each required stitch. It was probably because I’d move to a lot fatter needle (with an inherently more blunt tip) for the final row and cast off. 160 loops made. 960 handpicked stitches.

We thought it would require all the pins in the world plus a few others to block but it ended up needing relatively few.
