Notes

i wanted to experiment with a few things here, to make a crop top with a lace motif.

i added an additional stitch in the body section to accommodate a 12-stitch lace repeat with an even number of stitches on either side

the lace repeat is from summer lee’s barbara socks, as i understand this is a pretty standard ‘cascading leaves’ pattern. next time i would do only 1 purl in the center of the motif rather than 2 (and omit that extra stitch i mentioned above)

i ended the sweater before any hip shaping would be done, worked a few rows of 1x1 rib and bound off with JSSBO

i didn’t pick up any stitches for the sleeve underarms, just worked them back and forth as a flap with a simple eyelet-lattice pattern. inspired by the august lace from katie pomper’s all about me cowl. after about 4 rows, bound off with JSSBO and sewed the edges down with my yarn ends

again the OG pattern is fantastic. easy to follow and, as i’ve discovered, easy to mess around with
