sized back down bc the tension was just not there with the 2.75s lol! i cast on and worked once through the lace motif with several different combos of size 1s / size 2s / different thicknesses of nominally fingering weight yarns

ended up right back where i started with size 1s and cascade heritage! moving swiftly along now

i did find the lace chart demoralizing at first - it’s bold to have your first round include no straight knit stitches, instead all purls, increases and decreases. i even considered knitting the lace only on the leg even though i love how it looks. once i got into the rhythm of it it was a lot easier, and i was flying as soon as i got to the feet. i really enjoyed the pattern - summer lee’s patterns are always really clearly written - but idk if i’ll return to it bc the lace just isn’t very fun (for me) to work!

back several months later and i regret these socks so much lol. seems they need to be re-blocked after every wash, to open up the lace on the leg. the foot doesn’t need this, presumably because the stockinette bottom of the foot holds those stitches at a constant height. but the leg becomes so saggy after washing, i never wear them because they aren’t cute without extra effort!

back half a year later to say i was a fool. i wear these socks all the time and i don’t care that the leg is a little slouchy!
