08/21/08: Finally getting to these. I’m probably delusional to think I can finish these before the end of the Ravelympics, but I’m sure as heck going to try!

08/21/08: (Later) I’m confused by the heel flap on these… it doesn’t look right to me. So I sent a message to the designer. Hopefully, she’ll get back to me.

In the meantime, I decided to get out a spare set of dpns and start the other sock. When I did that, I decided that I wanted the socks to match, so I ripped out the sock I’d already started. I’m trying to get these finished by 8:59am on the 24th… I must be nuts!

08/22/08: Yay, the designer got back to me! So, now I can continue with these. I kind of like doing them both at the same time.

08/23/08: My left thumb was swollen when I woke up this morning. My first ‘sports’ injury! Well, nothing a little ibuprofen won’t take care of, I’m sure. I’m working on the gusset decreases right now and I’m determined to finish!

08/24/08: It’s 7:40am and these bad boys are done! Whew… just a little over an hour to the deadline. And I only had to stay up all night to do it. I’m so proud of myself!

I really like the way these turned out. Once I got clarification on the heel flap, it was smooth sailing. I think the yarn looks really good with this pattern. My mom told me she’s jealous of them, so I may have to knit a pair for her, too. When my hands recover…
