02/25/09: This is a February Sockdown entry. The pattern proceeds go to charity.
I recently saw this yarn for $3.29 per skein at Jo-Ann, so I decided to try it. It’s super soft… I hope it’s not a pain to knit with.
02/27/09: This is a really fun pattern. It’s just a mix of knits and purls, so not complicated at all. But, the effect is nice.
I’ve had a couple of weird spots in the yarn where it seems like one of the plies was looser than the rest. It’s hard to explain. Once I knit past that spot in the yarn, though, it’s not noticeable in the sock… so no harm.
03/04/09: First sock finished! It’s so soft and comfy… I love it! This is a great pattern.
03/15/09: Second sock finished. I even got the stripes to mostly match up… yay! But, the toe came out a tad longer than it did on the first sock… which is weird since I didn’t make any mods on either sock. Maybe I accidentally knit an extra plain row or something… I was working on these in the wee hours of the morning. Oh, well… nobody’s going to be looking at the toes while they’re in my shoes. I’m not sure it’s worth the trouble to redo it.
And I didn’t have any of the issues with the second skein of yarn that I did with the first skein, so maybe the first one was just an aberration. I have more of this yarn in other colors, so I sure hope so.
