A very, very pleasurable knit. The pattern is a joy to follow -so clear, well written, with as much information as possible and organised so that you can take it in at first glance… I wish they were all like that! Worth every penny!- and when something is so cute, it’s hard to stop knitting. I love how unfussy and still unique this design is, and 100% cotton has grown on me quite a bit lately…

I intentionally ignored gauge. I knew Handknit Cotton is a bit thicker than DK and that I would probably jump sizes. I CO and just went ahead, and I measured it when I got to the chest. As I thought, I was more on the 3rd size, so I worked the lengths accordingly. Pish pash posh.

I also modified the cuffs and hem - I worked 1x1 ribbing. I just don’t like garter edgings except on the sides of things.

I added two extra buttonholes (a total of 4) but I only used a couple. We’ll see if I’ll sew the buttonholes or add more buttons later. Pregnancy makes my right hand numb, so two is all I could manage today!

---She’s 8 months old (in the piccies) and she’s still wearing it. It’s a bit short now, but nothing dramatic, and it’s been very useful, lovely and easy to wear all through last spring, summer and now autumn. The best knit for my little girl so far.
