Notes

Got the hubby to order the Cozy Fire colorway for my birthday back in September. It arrived on November 20th, so I started early! Opened every day! (Apparently, the concept of an Advent Calendar is lost on me because I did the same thing last year.)

Notes:

  • Section 5 of the pattern had a few minor errors where it said to knit to the last 3, then yo, k1 x2 instead of knit to the last 2, then yo, k1 x2.
  • After working the border rows 10 times in the final color, then once each in other colors, I realized that I would not like all the different colors in the end. So, I only did 3 short sections, then finished it off with the last color.
  • I did NOT count my stitches and somewhere I went wrong. It looks fine, though, so I’m not sure where. As a result, I did not have enough stitches on to finish the border as written. Each diamond (or leaf?) repeat in the border takes 9 gray stitches off the needles with an SSK. The border says to do the last 18-row repeat twice with color 1, then there are 4 more rows that should take the last two gray stitches. That’s a total of 11 stitches, but when I got to that point, I only had 6. Hmmmm. I decided to do row 1 and 2 as written and then continued following that decrease pattern (knitting the knits and purling the purling the purls on row 2) until I had only 4 orange stitches on the needles. It resulted in a tapered end, which is what I was looking for. Overall, I’m okay with it, but still wonder how I lost the stitches.
