Notes

Warning: brioche knitting is addictive!

I made a mistake: Thanks to LeonieKnits, I realized I didnt increase enough in the garter stitch section (it should be kfb on WS, kfbf on RS so 6 stitches increases….)link text

I decided to keep up with the mistake (ie increase 4 stitches on each row), the finished project will just have a more triangular shape which wont be so triangular because of Brioche so it’s good!

Hence I followed the pattern as guideline rather than as rule!

Knitting just garter stitch with the Skein Top Draw sock yarn is a true pleasure!
We shouldnt underestimate very simple joys ;0)

Mods:
Set-up row 1 (WS): MC: k1, p1b
Set-up row 2: (WS): sl 4 stitches (ie, the 3 border stitches+yo), use CC to k1b, p1

Row 1A (RS): MC: k2, drop yo, k1, p1, k1byok1b, p1, k1b till 7 last st, p1, k1byok1b, p1, k1, drop yo, k2.

Row 1B (RS): CC: just follow the lead of row 1A, that is no yo, no increase. Slip st till you can find your CC (in my case 5 st), p1, k1 until after the increase (that is: just work the extra stitches normally, you will brioche them later to give them more body), then p1b k1, until 7 last st, k and p the increased st normally (no brioche), p1b, drop CC, slip the remaining stitches.

Row 2A (WS): MC: k2yoK1, k1, p1b till 4 last stiches, k1b, k1, yo, k2.
Row 2B (WS): CC: slip 4 stitches, k1b, p1 until the last 4 stitches, slip 4.

First section of Brioche finished, 4 g used (33g remaining).
I am really far from the amount of yarn required (I am not at 147 stitches either though, I have 123 stitches….). I’ll keep going with this yarn until it is finished, then go to the others.

Garter stitch section: knit 20 ridges
