Notes

Bought 25g of 3 different coloured beads instead of 12g of 6 different coloured beads. The colourway of the yarn is custard, so I’ve chosen gold, orange and yellow beads.

20/09/2013 - I picked this up again from UFO corner, as I never did get round to finishing this for the Ravellenic Games. Ooops, my bad. Realised that I’d not written down on the pattern anywhere where I was in the pattern and had just put my knitting down, mid pattern repeat. So, I had to rip it and start again.

Ooops. My bad. I have now got to the edging and have knitted about 5 or 6 repeats of the edging. I have found dental floss makes excellent lifelines.

I am using knitpro symphonie wood circular needles and they aren’t spectacularly pointy, which is fine, except when you have to knit 3 together. I didn’t have so much trouble on the main body of the shawl, but the edging is tricksy on these needles.

My advice? Use, quite pointy needles for the edging certainly (although it depends on your yarn), use lifelines and if you’re going to put your knitting down mid pattern repeat, write down where you are on the pattern.
