Improvising some basic toe-up socks for this fantastic yarn I picked up at the KW Knitters’ Fair. I love it so much.

CO 24 sts, increased to 60 sts.
Worked two full repeats of stripe pattern.
Insert waste yarn for afterthought heel after 4 rows of the third instance of starting colour.
K 20 rows.
Inc row.
K 15 rows.
Inc row.
K 15 rows.
Inc row.
K until current + 1 full stripe pattern is complete
K 3 rows.
Dec row.
12 rows 2x2 rib.

Afterthought heel -- pick up side sts & knit across; 64 sts.
K row.
Begin decreases every other row until 36 sts remain.
Work decreases every row for 3 rows; 24 sts.
Kitchener heel closed.
