5/20: Tested for gauge, needed a size 11 needle.

5/26: Used a 10.5 needle to complete 2.5 inches of ribbing

5/28: Just over 10 rows of the chart done, it’s slow going because of all the floats that have to be done..

6/1: Picking up speed now that the tentacles are closer together and there are less stretches of long floats. It’s getting hard to put down because I want to see more of the octopus!

6/14: 50 rows of the body chart done! I did a lot yesterday, but I think that I’d be further along if I worked on it more steadily instead of in binges.

6/30: I finally finished the body! It feels like the sweater will knit up faster now that I don’t have to worry about as many stitches for a little while.

7/2: I have one sleeve attached! It was a little nerve racking to put it on, but it’s nothing fancy. Just knit the front, insert the left sleeve, knit the back and then add the second sleeve. Which I still need to knit. But hey, I’m getting there!

8/22: On and off knitting of the second sleeve, I seriously recommend doing this one first! But it’s now attached and I’m 7 rounds into the yoke. The rounds are going a lot faster now!

8/23: Done! I didn’t do any decreases around the neck because I opted to do the “optional” on step six. This created a very wide neck, which fits for the person I’m giving it to. I have to give people who have knit more than one of these a lot of credit, one is enough for me!
