Someone gifted this scarf project, which had been worked up to the last few rows of the fourth bubble, to a friend whose knitting passions lie elsewhere so I took it & will attempt to complete it. There was no information about the yarn. It is a but scratchy, sticky 100% wool, a graduated color (for the most part), with an irregular spin. It may be homespun, Rama, Jamison, or Kauni yarn used in several of the other projects. It did bloom some and soften up a bit after a good soak during the blocking process.
I’m working it loosely to attempt to match the tension of what has already been worked.
Feeling the pressure to not run out of yarn, I omitted the last bubble I had planned and it seems a good decision as there was very little yarn remaining. The temptation to tink back and add the last bubble was thwarted when I corrected a twisted st a few rows down and the sticky yarn was very difficult to undo without breaking the yarn.
Some of the bubbles look more like flying saucers.
Charting all those bubbles was an interesting challenge, as was the knitting. Whoever started the project did chart the first 3 of 9 segments.
The scarf will be handed back to Angie who can do with it as she pleases…keep it, return to original gifter, contribute to a fund raiser.
Finished measurements post blocking 7” wide x 5’ long.
