Jacob’s current fascination is with country names & flags. So he selected Equatorial Guinea for the central motif, including the off-shore island, with the country outlined and the flag completely filling the interior. I used my envisoknit Design Studio software to chart the design based on his drawing (two of the flags colors are misplaced on his drawing). The bulk of the flag is intarsia; the tree w/stars and the island are duplicate stitch. I used remainder yarn for the outline and the tree w/stars motif. He chose the yarn colors and asked for a little bit heavier yarn than his planet sweaters.
Not having time to design a sweater, I used Emma Heywood’s with my own motif.
Other modifications:

• Aran, not DK, weight yarn.
• CO - Old Norwegian, BO - Jenny’s Surprisingly Stretchy
• Moved shaping 2 or 3 sts from the selvedges
• Adjusted lengths as needed
