Decided on four small panels of varying configurations of the same basic shape on the back, and one large panel on the front. Will use the variegated for sashing only.

My version of this bag isn’t very much like the pattern version. I took a class from Denise Powell where we talked about using Quilt blocks as design inspiration, and that’s where this bag came from. Her pattern offers the details on how to knit the specific bag she shows in her pics, but also enough information to go off the reservation and work out your own ideas, which is what I did.
