June’s challenge was to knit a sock from a non-sock pattern. I chose to re-vamp Tin Can Knits’ brilliant Gather pattern into a sock pattern.

Casting on 68 sts.
Central design is bordered on each side by 4 sts on front of leg.

Repeat pattern 7 times, then immediately start on German short row heel over 11 / 12 / 11 sts.

Toe is knit with decreases every second row until 2 x 12 sts remain. Kitchener closed.

Sadly, I didn’t have the brain space to mimic the amazing decreases of the Gather hat’s brim, but that would have looked amazing at the top of the toe. Maybe next time!
