Cast on for a swatch one Weds 6th September as I need to size up the sweater. For the ecru colour I am using a thin DK from my stash, not sure if it will fit in, we’ll see :-)
27th October.Cast on in 2x2 rib, 198 stitches as per calculation from Amy Herzog custom fit site using the shape for the schooner pattern. Found it quite interesting to use the shape from one sweater and the colourwork from another. With the Amy Herzog custom fit site once I had swatched I used my own body measurements to let the site calculate the shaping then used the Debbie Bliss chart for the pattern. It is roomy but I haven’t washed or blocked it so who knows what might happen (it is Superwash merino). Very enjoyable to knit the colourwork. I picked up less stitches for the armholes and necklines because I wanted them to lay flat. My tension is weird in the colourwork but I quite like the rustic look!
