I modified the original pattern to a longer length of 28 rows for the skirt (before adding the ruffle). I added a shell pattern to the bottom of the skirt, also.

I added a Grosgrain ribbon at the waist, & since I made it for my 6 year old granddaughter, for ease of play, I used a Velcro closing.
