Inspired by @runningyarn - who has also made my pretty project bag - and after quite some pondering of the choice between the beautiful Bladlilje and Krokus tops by @lene.tosti , I finally got started on the former, made out of Mirasol Sampa
.
Not only is ths lovely cotton certified organic, but by purchasing yarns from the Mirasol Project you’re supporting local communities in Peru. A portion of every purchase is dedicated directly to the funding of a school in the remote area of Munani, in the region of Puno and since the start in 2006 a school has been built and started there. It‘s so nice to read on the Mirasol website about how the children who have since joined the school are improving their wellbeing, their education and living standards but „without losing their Andes origins and identity in their sheperd communities.“

I can‘t find the notes for my swatch, but based on my gague being loose as usual I had marked to knit size S, in order to obtain an S/M top. Now that the yoke is done I‘m a bit worried it looks big though. Have to compare with a finished top and decide what to do …

ripping out ones knitting is sometimes also part of the learning process
in this case my gauge had gotten out of hand and the yoke was simply too big … unfortunately I don’t yet have these funny glasses from @yourdailyfiber but I hope that my fellow Swedish knitters from @stickkontakt are right when they state that “you’ll never regret ripping”

At an otherwise lovely meet up with Marianne of Runningyarn, she made me aware that the yarn unfortunately isn‘t a perfect match for this pattern. So, therefore both will have to wait for a better one to „come out and play“ again! - Still so much left to learn …
