When looking for a pattern to make a simple but good looking scarf out of this charity yarn, I was glad to look at this list of BICOC designers, since I had happened to see that people I follow on Instagram are participating in the BIPOC MAL started by Elisabeth Desamour

I saw that others who had knit an „Oransje Skjerf“ had cast on 30 sts for a garter stitch scarf, but I think that fabric stays a bit flatter, and as the sample is made in a only slightly thicker yarn, that runs 140m / 100g, I figure I can either go for the original 39sts, or add another repeat of 6, to be really sure I don‘t get a skinny scarf. Also, that way I can avoid my aversion to having an even number of repeats 8) i.e. CO 45
Either way I‘ll make it a cowl, so I‘ll do a provisional cast on, using this invisible one again - though looking at another tutorial than last time, and I don‘t know if it‘s that the penny finally dropped, or whether this one was more clear, but I also like how the rendered stitches to eventually pick up are explained in this video =)

Did a three needle bind off and let it go for a wool cycle spin in the machine. The result looks great and the yarn is wonderfully squishy.

My DH loves his birthday gift, made out of a lovely alpaca blend which is sold for a great cause aiming to create awareness about people that are cold and in need of solidarity
