choice: this seems like a perfect project for learning drop stitches 8)

the pretty “Easy Drop Stitch Scarf - Seafoam for Marie” in the same yarn as mine, is the one that led me to the pattern.

start up: I followed Sheilam’s advice of needle choice for my shawl, i.e. 3,5mm. however, I chose to add one row of waves since I didn’t want the scarf to be too narrow and the the original pattern was based on a 125m/50g-yarn.

I just love the feel of this yarn mixture and definitely prefer using it for this more elegant pattern so I’m happy with having frogged my first project with this yarn: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/janicke73/moss-stickad-ha...

in progress 1: now I’ve learnt the pattern and think I’ve got it under control, but it’s not coming along fast 8)

in progress 2: after 30g of my first skein I have about 70cm of scarf, so another 20g should leave me with about 100cm. this seems a bit short, but the original pattern notes state:

“It was quite a bit shorter and wider right off the needles, before it had a chance to drape. This stitch pattern will definitely open up and grow in length once you block your scarf and put it on.”

after washing and blocking: the scarf is about 14 cm wide and 144 cm long. personally I like to wear a scarf for warmth double around my neck and for that it’s a bit on the short side, but as a shawl it works fine like this!
