Modifications:

I did not cut the yarn, but continued with the straps directly after the BO round.

That means I first purled a row, then continued with the decreaes, but as I slipped the first stitch of each row, I did:

sl1, K1, ssk, knit to the 4 last stitches, k2tog, k2

I did the knot version, and ended each strap with two more decrease rows.

The pattern doesn‘t give tips on which kind of bind-off to use, but the one thing I would try to change if I were to make this again, is the top edge of the bag, that tends to roll over. Minor detail though, and the recipient was happy =)

Washed and laid to dry with empty PET bottles inside to avoid folding creases =)
