also switched to first the shortest Knit Pro cable for the crown, and finally to this nifty short thingy – asymmetric circular needle for small circumference – which isn’t something I’d like to knit a whole project (like a sock) or say sleeve on, but for these purposes I’ll pick it over DPNs and/or magic loop …

first it turned out much too small, even though it had the exact same measurements as the hat my friend had measured for reference. I guess hers was more elastic, and this one was especially too short, so I ripped back the crown and knit it again according to the next size and gave it to my DH who’s head circumferance is smaller …
