Notes

I used a double strand of worsted weight yarn for hats on size 10 needles. Cast on 60 stitches. Purl two rounds knit two rounds. Knit one round, then change to blue. No bobbles. Made horns on size 3 needles with single strand of worsted. Cast on 26 stitches in gold. knit 2 rows and switched to cream. Knit a total of seven short rows after 12 rows straight stocking knit. spaced out the short rows in the middle. Decrease one in from each end on the knit rows only for points. Stuffed with batting. The horns took awhile, but turned out well. I might start with the short rows sooner if I knit this again, because gravity drags them down somewhat. I actually tacked them up on top a little to get them to stand up more. I made them for the principal and vice principal at my middle school.
For the braids I used almost a whole skein for each set of braids of 100% Caron United in color Mustard. I used 5 feet lengths and draped them over my head, tying them above my ears, and then braiding them while on my head.
