This was my first attempt at knitting a shawl, and while I’ve been a knitter for 6 years and have knit a variety of things, I had trouble with this pattern. Luckily I found a gracious and helpful knitter on Ravelry (you know who you are) who had knit this shawl and was very patient in helping me see the light. Also, I contacted Diamond Yarns directly and was sent a “new version” of the pattern, which turned out to be the same version I had purchased. A designer at Diamond, perhaps the actual designer of this pattern, helped me also by pointing out that Row 2 of the border section should NOT have any YO’s (even though the “new version” of the pattern still insists the YO’s should be in that row.)
The shawl is done and I love it, although I know of a few mistakes here and there. But as the Ravelry helper pointed out to me, “Any mistakes just prove it was hand made (and if there are enough mistakes, call it a “design feature”! :D ). Love that philosophy!
