Notes

Last year I made a bunch of tiny sweaters leading up to Christmas. I sent one to my step daughter in San Francisco. She is a fencer and wants a new fencing jacket for Christmas, so I thought I would make this little ornament for her and send along with a note that we will pay for whatever jacket she chooses (along with many other gifts too).

After I knit the jacket, I thought it would be over the top cute to embroider her name on the back and put a patch on the arm, like her real jacket has.

This is a bit heavier yarn, but it was white (not natural) and on hand, so I used it.

Knitting finished. Sweater is soaking. Still need to add some embellishments and a hanger, once it’s dried.

Embroidered our last name on the back like her real fencing jacket. Printed a tiny RIT fencing patch on printable fabric, cut it out, and then glued on with clear Elmer’s school glue.
I’m not very good at embroidery, and it’s not easy on knitting, but I think it adds to the specialness of the piece making it really personal and custom made for her. heart

Made the hanger out of 14 gauge Romex wire scraps we had on hand. Although one can easily get wire in the jewelry making section of craft stores too!
