Great pattern knits up so quickly with clear instructions. Took me forever to get round to sewing on the buttons and sewing in loose ends, oh well, she didn’t need it until fall! I found the arms quite small even going up a needle size to cast off, so to be on the safe side I used size 6 mm needles and used Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off.

As usual I managed to reverse things, and I had the button hole on the wrong side at the bottom of the tunic, so it buttons with the flap to the front instead of back. Didn’t want to re-knit so I attatched a button underneath the top button to go through the button hole, so the flap now points to the back and won’t catch when she’s climbing and playing.
Made a little flower brooch by using part of a Debbie Bliss pattern from her 9 to 5 book, floral bag flowers. Attatched a button front and back. The small white button pushes through the knit and holds the brooch in place. I didn’t want to use a pin.
The dye in the yarn transferred onto my needles while knitting and ran a lot when washing. I spoke with the yarn company they call it crocking and said it will stop after a few rinses. I found that it was still bleeding after several rinses but much improved, I chose a similar colour for the pocket lining so it wouldn’t be noticeable if it bled in, but it wasn’t a problem at all.
