Happy to be making another Seawall Storm. This pattern works beautifully with Palouse Yarn Company’s Cashmere Squeeze and I am so in love with these colorways!

Project notes/mods:

  • Accidentally used US 7’s instead of 5’s face_with_hand_over_mouth
  • Ended after 8 repeats of rows 14/15 in Section 3: The Sea
  • Bound off using a US 8 needle so that the bind off wouldn’t be too tight
  • Gauge before blocking (garter stitch): 4” = 20 sts x 38-40 rows

Uh oh! I just realized I’ve been knitting with US 7’s instead of US 5’s! No wonder the fabric seemed looser than my previous Seawall Storm project. Still, the drape of the fabric is lovely, the shawl still looks gorgeous. I’ll just bind off partway through Section 3 or else this shawl will be huge!

Ended after 8 repeats of rows 14/15 in Section 3 (The Sea). Bound off using a US 8 needle so that the bind off wouldn’t be too tight.

Tonight I finished weaving in the ends, gave the shawl a wash and rinse and pinned it out to dry. Love how it looks!
