Notes

Love how these turned out. If Dad doesn’t like them, I’ll certainly wear them! The fit is nice and snug and should be just what Dad is looking for in a cycling sock. crossed_fingers

Project Notes/Mods:

  • Holding yarn and Prym Strick-Elastic together, CO 72 sts using Tillybuddy’s CO in US 0’s
  • Switched to US 00’s and 1x1 rib for 30 rows
  • End elastic
  • 25 rows in stockinette
  • 36 sts for heel flap
  • 36 rows for heel flap
  • Heel cup set up: Knit 22 sts (36/2 plus 4), ssk, k1, turn. Slip first st purlwise, purl 1 + 4 + 4, p2tog, p1, turn.
  • Remainder of heel cup: Slip first st purlwise, knit to 1 before gap, ssk, k1, turn. Slip first st purlwise, purl to 1 before gap, p2tog, p1, turn. Repeat until 22 sts remain.
  • Pick up and knit 20 sts either side of flap. Ktbl of those sts on following round. Then start gusset decreases every second row until 72 sts on needles.
  • 70 rows in stockinette
  • Toe decreases as specified in pattern (8 every second row, then every row until 8 sts left).

Measurements:

  • 61 g
  • Foot circumference: 7”
  • Foot length: 10.375”
  • Top of cuff to top of heel flap: 4”
  • Cuff: 2.25”
  • Leg (bottom of cuff to top of flap): 1.75”
  • Heel flap: 2.5”
  • Gauge: 20.5 sts x 27 rows = 2”
