Love the Elf colorway.. it is so beautiful, and hopefully my local yarn will translate into the idea..
Colours chosen:
MC - Off White - realized that my previous purchase and new purchase have a small variation in color, so to blend, I am alternating the off white every other row..
CC1 - Orange for the leaves .
CC2 - Red for the houses
CC3 - Light Green for the dandelions
CC4 - Med Green for the fairies
CC5, CC6, CC7 - the purples in random order..
Using a random list generator linked, I found a pleasing order of all my colours to be used for the sparkle border that I decided to use before Part 1..
1, 7, 4, 6, 2, 5, 3

used the swatch as my bottom border with all the colours..
took longer than planned but happy..
onto Part 1 - orange leaves and red houses
June 18, 2024
today was my day off work and decided to work on this..
after getting to row 23 of the beautiful mushroom houses this morning, I realized that I did not really like the transition from the leaves to the houses - it looks like a little grass is growing
.
so I frogged all the way to the beginning of that mushroom chart, holding all the beginning loops of each row on a stitch marker by the row so as to use the yarn in the same order, and redid the first rows in grass green instead of orange then back to red. it does look much better.. though what an uphill task it is to frog in crochet

Part 1 is finished.. the super Mario houses are so cool
..
Part 2 will be the two shades of green.. light green for the daisy chain, then the grass green for the fairies.

Part 3 complete - the fairies are showing up amidst the green grass and flowers. I am enjoying this. can’t wait to see them complete in part 4
July 27, 2024
finally my green fairies in the grass with greenbells and dandelions are complete. the detail in design is very nice though I am glad to have finished over 70 rows of green
Onto the colours purple
July 31, 2024
Part 5 - purple daisy chains complete.. I think the fastest time to finish a clue.. onto the butterflies in all purple glory..
August 25, 2024
Part 6 - seeing some projects with bursts of colour, I decided to try using this technique of Intarsia Mosaic Crochet (YouTube) on my butterflies to give their wings some colour.. the only thing I did not anticipate were all the ends I was to finish off.. but the effect was worth the effort (in hindsight)
I finished the butterflies on 18 August.. my goodness! 1 week ago.. and decided that I would weave all the ends before proceeding to the last part - the wands.
this took longer than I thought as I was alternating the lighter purples as the wings of the butterflies and the darker (brighter) purple as the flowers.. and cutting each time I finished with a colour..
but I am now done..
and can happily move to the last part - the wands - in orange to match the beginning orange stars..
August 30, 2024
Part 7 - wands moved so fast.. it was magic
. I decided to add stars like at the very beginning between the longer wands to balance the design, and like the look..
Border time.. will use the light green and dark purple that I used for the grass and flowers with butterflies.

Border

That was a feat of sheer willpower
it just did not want to end. The ch1 space was nice and quick on the RS but on the WS, I found it a little difficult still to find where I was to pick sts. I will try on the next a combination of ch1 spaces and the slipst surface chains on WS if I remember..
-
Picked up 290sts on the length meaning I had done 290 rows
and 194sts on the width.
-
Used the light green + bright purple combo at the front, but it did not stand out as I would have liked.
-
For the WS, I did rounds using the colours of the stars at the very beginning with white alternating each round
