I increased every other row for the first 6 leaf motif sections and then increased only 5 times on the next leaf section, then 4 in the next section, then 3, then 2, then 1 time. I had enough yarn to do one leaf section at the full width and then began decreasing in the same proportion. It gave the shawl a smooth curve at the bottom. I used SSK at the edge of the shawl which gave a more similar appearace to the edge with the increases.
The dye lots were quite different so I used the darker on for the leaf section with intarsia technique and it looks good.
I eliminated the leaf stem at the end to aim for more symmetry at the ends of the shawl but in view of how the leaves lie, there has to be some difference.
