Started with Chained Cast On (p. 39, “Cast On, Bind Off” by Leslie Ann Bestor): 39 stitches (main pattern requires multiple of 4 plus 3)
Main pattern stitch is Seeded Rib Check (p. 7, “A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns” by Barbara G. Walker) … chosen because it’s a reversible, simple texture pattern that shouldn’t be overwhelmed by the variegated yarn.

Update: Am VERY happy with how the colours are pooling … that ghostly plaid effect is lovely!

Finished scarf is just cravat length … but sometimes short and thick/squishy is what one needs. :-)
