Notes

This is a lovely big hyperbolic plane which was very quick to crochet. The photo with the pencil gives you an idea of the finished size.

To make this plane, I cast on 7 chain stitches and continued for 15.5 rows of double crochet. Increases were made every 3 stitches. The final (pink & red) row contains 637 stitches and is 6.4 metres long. The whole plane contains 2,527 stitches & 268 metres of yarn (67m of each of the four colours). It took 1 week to complete (the magic of chunky yarn!).

(You can calculate all of these numbers using a geometric series where the first term in the series is the number of chain stitches you cast on and the common ratio is the increase you used: in other words if you increase one stitch every N stitches, the ratio is N+1/N.)
