Sockdown April-May 2025.
Meets two categorical criteria: Novel use of self-striping, and “made it before”.
I have two part-bumps of ScrumptiousPurl Stripe Me Up in colourways I have temporarily lost track of names for (I’ll search my other projects) and a 3rd bit of self-striper that may have been part of a giveaway or swap.
Going to alternate at least two if not all 3 in a specific order to kinda-match, but not quite, both socks.
Possibly with some novel twists or reinforcement modifications (eg, EoP or slip-stitch around the heel & toe sections.

Colourway order: see next note, this got re-started.
CO: Grassy, starting with lime green.Since this used scrap pieces, was just the CO
Note: CO 10 extra for the leg to lengthen it a bit more - 60 sts in that section.
Row 1-2: Grassy, next colour was dk grey
Row 3-4 PurplePurl
, started with dk purple but not the whole section of it.
Note: on row 4, started working the leg stitches section in opposite st. (knit on purl side) in order to do the wide spiral rib leg. Will do 3 rows purl, and 3 or 5(?)knit to see how it balances (CO and first 3 rows makes 8 sts high first section)

Started over due to realizing I would run out of yarn the way I planned this first. Incorporating my previously noted Wraptor mods:
1) went back to CO 50 sts for the leg section due to yarn shortage (reduces 40 sts per row for the shorter leg)
2) start with K1-with-extra-wrap, k2tog, then knit or purl remaining leg section (k or p given spiral rib)
3) spiral rib cuff: CO and Row 1-2 knit-on-right, purl-on-wrong. Row 3-6: purl right, knit wrong. Rows 7-10, same as 1-2, etc etc
4) reinforce heel from start: sl1 k1 between inc/dec markers
5) reinforce toe: rows13-28, sl1 k1 on right side (when not inc. or dec)

First sock, 12 “rows” done with the grass ball with a little bit of grey left over. Joined the grapevine ball at a medium-purple section at beginning of row 13.

Out of all 3 yarns on the first sock (I had divided them all in halves for both socks) halfway through Part 3 Row 10.
So I really only need 2 more “rows” of yarn, then the short-row filler - will see if I can find a hot pink or bright lime solid to fill in the last bit.

Done with a day to spare! I finished the grafting while sitting in the audience at a youth theatre play out in the park - literally finished the last stitches as the kids were taking their bows.
